Software I use, tools I enjoy, and things that make my day-to-day easier.

A personal list of the tools I use to build software, stay focused, and experiment with setups that (hopefully) improve my workflow.

Desk setup

  • 13″ MacBook Pro (M1, Touch Bar)

This is my personal, day-to-day machine for side projects and personal work. I’m one of the rare people who actually likes the Touch Bar — it’s genuinely useful for accents (French) and quick shortcuts. Most of the time it’s docked to an external display and keyboard, but I still prefer it over traditional function keys. Battery life is excellent, it’s lightweight, and it fits my needs perfectly.

  • Standing desk + walking pad

I alternate between sitting and walking throughout the day. It’s an easy way to stay active without thinking too much about it, and it fits naturally into my workflow.

Displays

  • LG 38″ Ultrawide

I’ve been using this since 2018. Moving away from Retina displays was a challenge at first, but the extra horizontal space completely won me over. It’s been incredibly useful for development and multitasking.

  • LG 32″ 4K (240 Hz)

This display is mostly dedicated to gaming. I rarely use it for work, but it’s great to have a screen optimized purely for play.

Keyboards & input

  • ZSA Voyager

After trying several keyboards (Keychron, Kinesis, and others), this is the one that really clicked. I wanted something split, low-profile, and highly customizable — the Voyager checked all the boxes. I adapted to it very quickly, and the configuration software is excellent.

  • ZSA Navigator (left-handed)

I deal with strong RSI in my right hand, and pairing the Voyager with the left-handed Navigator was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Even though I’m right-handed, I adapted quickly, and it handles most pointer tasks comfortably.

  • Logitech MX Vertical & MX Master 3

For tasks that require more precision, I still rely on these. I’ve been using Logitech MX mice for years, and they’ve always been reliable.

Audio & comfort

  • AirPods Max

These are essential for me. I’ve tried replacing them with other brands but always came back. They’re comfortable, sound great, and — most importantly — they just work. I use them for almost everything.

  • Herman Miller Embody + Atlas headrest

After many years with an Aeron, I switched to the Embody and haven’t looked back. It’s my go-to chair for both desk work and gaming.

  • BenQ ScreenBar Halo

A great addition to my setup. The built-in sensor and customization options make it easy to adapt to different lighting conditions.

Software

  • Xcode

Most of my time as an iOS engineer is spent here.

  • Visual Studio Code

After years with TextMate and Sublime Text, VS Code is now my go-to for almost everything else — and sometimes even for iOS-related work.

  • macOS Terminal

I try to keep my setup as vanilla as possible. I’ve experimented with fancy terminals and themes, but I always come back to the default tools.

  • iA Writer

My main writing tool. It works beautifully across devices, syncs via iCloud, and it’s a buy-once app with no subscription.

  • Apple Notes & Calendar

Nothing fancy — I like keeping things simple and as close to the system defaults as possible.

  • Transmit

My go-to app for FTP and server-related tasks. I’ve been using it for years, and it’s always been reliable.
